Thank you for stopping to read about our practice and clinicians. I grew up in a small farm community. As a farmer’s daughter I did not dare to envision the journey I now find myself on. I too had to find my way along a road of bumps and curves, full of all kinds of emotions. My therapeutic journey helped me discover who I was meant to be, and it is now a privilege to bring that to others.

As a social worker I truly want to know about your experience and how it has shaped not only who you are but how you perceive the world. Getting to know you, as you are ready to peel back the layers. I have a background in treating people that have struggled with a variety of issues, some of which include substance use, trauma and obsessive-compulsive disorder as well as anxiety and depression.

As I thought about a name for this practice, I was taken back to childhood sitting under my great aunt’s weeping willow tree. I felt so safe under the dropping branches. I strive with each session to offer that to each of my clients.

As I have grown my practice to include other therapists, I wanted to create a community that would focus on healing for our clients as well as support so they could do this important work. At Whispering Willows Therapy the relationships built here are a priority. I hope you feel that the moment you walk in our door or log in for your telehealth session.

Hello everyone, thank you for taking a moment to learn a little about me. I grew up on a small local farm where I learned early on the value of hard work, resilience and the importance of strong connections. Those lessons continue to shape how I show up as a social worker today.

I’m a licensed social worker who believes therapy works best when it feels safe, collaborative, and genuine. I aim to create a supportive, nonjudgemental space where you can talk openly, explore challenges, and work toward meaningful change in a way that feels right for you.

I believe in meeting you where you are and moving at a pace that feels comfortable and empowering. Taking the step to start therapy isn’t always easy, and I am honored to talk alongside you as you work toward healing, growth and greater balance.

Julie, LMSW

I am a social worker from Northern New York who brings creativity and compassion to the field. As a Nazareth College graduate, I have three years of clinical experience working with children and adults to navigate anxiety, depression, and trauma. I draw from Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and person-centered approaches, tailoring interventions to each client’s strengths and goals.

I believe in blending therapeutic skill with creative expression. My goal is to help my clients develop practical coping strategies and build resilience during difficult times. As your therapist, I will be committed to being culturally responsive and offer collaborative care that empowers individuals and families to heal and grow.

I believe strongly in the therapeutic alliance we will build together. This will help pave the way to healing and create a safe space to process some of life’s hardest moments.

Welcome to the first step on your healing journey. Thank you for taking a moment to read about me and what I bring into our work together. Growing up I learned the value of hard work and family. In my work as a Social Worker, I bring these values to my clients. I am an LMSW that believes caring is the path to healing.

I am a therapist committed to creating a warm, comfortable, and supportive environment where clients feel safe to be themselves. I believe meaningful change begins when people feel heard and understood. My approach is collaborative and compassionate, meeting each client where they are while honoring their unique experiences and strengths. I work to provide a non-judgmental space that encourages growth, self-reflection, and healing, helping clients build confidence and move forward at their own pace.

Alaniece, Intern

Welcome, and thank you for allowing me to be part of your therapeutic journey. I grew up in a small town in North Carolina and am currently a graduate student at Catawba College. The path that led me to this profession was not the one I originally envisioned for myself. I explored many different directions before realizing that my passion for helping others could become my life’s work. Through my own therapeutic journey, I gained a deeper understanding of myself and discovered a meaningful connection to the counseling profession.

As a therapist who is also engaged in therapy, I deeply value the courage it takes to begin this process. My goal is to truly get to know who you are—to understand the world from your perspective and how your experiences have shaped you. I work from a person-centered foundation, striving to create a safe, empathetic, and nonjudgmental environment where you feel comfortable showing up as your authentic self.

In our work together, I incorporate evidence-based approaches such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) to help explore patterns of thoughts, emotions, and behaviors. I also integrate mindfulness and grounding techniques to support emotional regulation, increase present-moment awareness, and help you develop practical skills for navigating life’s challenges. I hope to build a genuine therapeutic relationship where you feel supported, understood, and empowered as we work toward personal growth and meaningful goals.

I believe a critical part of the therapeutic journey is knowing that you will be met exactly where you are, with compassion and unconditional support.

“There is hope, even when your brain tells you there isn’t.” – John Green
